Group HSE Manager

Based in Manchester

£60,000 per annum – £65,000 per annum + car allowance, £6,500 per annum + bonus 15%

Sites: 3 small but fast‑paced manufacturing sites across the UK, well established in health, safety and environment with buy‑in from the top.

Overview

To evolve HSE for the company by strengthening defences and ensuring a future‑fit framework. Build momentum for safety and take the organisation on a cultural journey toward a proactive state.

Provide a hands‑on, strategic, pragmatic leadership that educates, empowers and drives accountability downwards, giving each site the confidence to lead HSE.

Assist the Group Director in developing the HSE strategy and present to the board.

Establish strong, trusted relationships with all General Managers on site and across departments, remaining an approachable and visible leader.

Lead with gravitas, dynamism and credibility, influencing at all levels.

Conduct deep investigations into accidents to identify root causes, strengthen defences and implement actions that reduce future risk.

Take on interesting projects to future‑proof the organisation.

Qualifications and Background
  • Ideally a NEBOSH Diploma, or equivalent (NVQ Level 5/6, NCRQ, IOSH Level 6). Proven leaders with a NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent such as IOSH Level 3 will also be considered.
  • Fast‑moving manufacturing experience.
  • Multi‑site experience or large single‑site, complex production processes.
