Job summary

isepglobal in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, is seeking a Senior Health, Safety and Environment Manager to lead our site’s safety strategy and ensure full regulatory compliance across the facility.

You will conduct audits, investigate incidents and near misses, manage ISO-based frameworks, and engage contractors, regulators and internal stakeholders to sustain a best-in-class HSE performance. This role reports to senior leadership and offers excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent level qualification required.
• Membership of IOSH with progression toward Diploma preferred.
• Experience with ISO management systems and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure facility compliance with UK legislation and global HSE strategy.
• Act as the key point of contact for health, safety and environment on site.
• Audit HSE performance, report findings and investigate incidents/near misses.
• Engage regulators, contractors and internal/external stakeholders to maintain high standards.

Senior Health, Safety and Environment Manager

Are you an experienced Health and Safety professional with a strong background in heavy industrial, chemical, pharmaceutical, FMCG, or similar sectors?

We've been engaged by a leading facilities management organisation who are contracted to an industrial technology manufacturer to recruit a Senior Health, Safety and Environment Manager. The organisation has a large global network and this role will be specifically responsible for their substantial research and development facility.

The company are leaders in health and safety and have an exceptional track record, this role will join the existing health and safety team and will play a key part in the organisations continuing success.

Responsibilities for the Senior Health, Safety and Environment Manager will include:

• Ensuring the facility is fully compliant with both UK legislation and the global strategy for health, safety and environment
• Acting as the key point of contact for health and safety, covering all mechanical equipment and hard facilities across the site
• Auditing safety, health and environmental performance, accurately reporting and investigating incidents and near misses
• Engaging with key internal and external stakeholders including contractors, regulators, and enforcement agencies

The successful Senior Health, Safety and Environment Manager will have:

• Proven experience in a similar role ideally within a related manufacturing, chemical, pharmaceutical or related environment
• NEBOSH or equivalent and membership of IOSH, ideally working towards or hold the Diploma
• Excellent communication skills with proven experience engaging clients, staff, and contractors
• Experience of working with ISO management systems
• IEMA certificate/Environmental qualification (desirable)
