Health Safety and Environment Coordinator
Based, single manufacturing site in North Acton, Greater London
Salary: £30,000-£35,000 per annum

A great opportunity to be a key member of a large, complex manufacturing organisation, which is well invested and where they are passionate about Health and Safety and it is prioritised. They have an impressive safety record but want to drive towards independency, to drive ownership of Health and Safety to the team and ensure the site is operating in a more proactive way, ensuring it is fit for the future. This role has a strong focus on promoting positive behaviours and add value as they progress on their cultural journey. This role is well supported with guidance and mentoring from the on site HSE Manager who is very well embedded in the company.

Role Overview
  • Assist the HSE Manager with the implementation of the site's Health and Safety Management System.
  • Be visible and approachable on site, offering support around the factory.
  • Develop and increase momentum on their cultural journey, proactively encouraging the right behaviours on site.
  • Conduct risk assessments and assist departments with implementing appropriate control measures.
  • Perform inspections and audits to verify compliance with legislation and internal procedures.
  • Support the investigation of accidents, near misses and incidents, validating evidence and ensuring timely close‑out of actions. Assist with sharing lessons learned across relevant teams.
  • Support departments in developing and maintaining Safe Systems of Work ensuring they are suitable, sufficient, and regularly reviewed in line with operational needs and legal requirements.
  • Manage COSHH assessments and ensure the safe use and storage of hazardous substances.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date HSE documentation and records, including training logs, risk assessments, and inspection findings.
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of Safety Days and internal safety campaigns to drive engagement across all departments.
  • Support the site's compliance with environmental legislation and internal standards (e.g. waste management, air emissions, spill control).
  • Log and follow up on environmental near misses, observations, and improvement actions.
  • Assist with site environmental objectives and initiatives (e.g. energy reduction, water savings, waste segregation).
  • Help monitor site environmental aspects and impacts in line with ISO 14001 and corporate requirements.
  • Support with environmental data collection and reporting, including contributing to group‑level sustainability metrics and site performance reviews.
  • Exciting projects to help drive alongside the HSE Manager on such as; contractor management systems, LOTO, COSHH and confined space.
