Job summary

Irwin & Colton Limited, a global leader in waste management, is seeking a Health, Safety and Environment Advisor to enhance HSE performance across sites.

The role requires national travel between Blackpool and Kent, a NEBOSH certificate (or equivalent) and strong auditing/inspection capabilities. Competitive package includes £42,500 base salary, a 20% bonus, car/car allowance and excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar health, safety and environment role within waste, heavy industrial or related industries.
• NEBOSH certificate or equivalent and ideally IOSH membership.
• Ability to influence and engage with all levels of the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Support the ongoing review and improvement of HSE management systems in line with policy.
• Assist with audits, inspections and investigations, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Support the implementation of HSE initiatives and company-wide campaigns.
• Regularly visiting sites, monitoring HSE performance and promoting best practice.

We've been engaged by a leading global waste management organisation to recruit a Health, Safety and Environment Advisor. The role is focused on supporting a positive health and safety culture and improving health and safety performance across the company.

Responsibilities of the Health, Safety and Environment Advisor will include:

• Supporting the ongoing review and improvement of health, safety and environmental management systems in line with company policy
• Assisting with audits, inspections and investigations, identifying opportunities for improvement
• Supporting the implementation of health, safety and environmental initiatives and company-wide campaigns
• Regularly visiting sites, monitoring health, safety and environmental performance and promoting best practice

The successful Health, Safety and Environment Advisor will have:

• Experience in a similar health, safety and environment role within waste, heavy industrial or a related industry
• NEBOSH certificate or equivalent and ideally membership of a relevant professional body such as IOSH
• The ability to influence and engage with all levels of the organisation
• A willingness to develop their career within a challenging operational environment
