Job summary

Merlin Entertainments is seeking a Health and Safety Advisor at Thorpe Park, Chertsey. You will audit, inspect and ensure compliance while supporting ongoing safety culture improvements across the resort.

You will collaborate with operations and project teams to implement safe methods, mentor colleagues and ensure legal compliance with best practice. This role emphasizes proactive safety leadership and incident learning across all park activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Health & Safety role, ideally within a theme park, leisure, hospitality or similar operational environment.
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and compliance requirements.
• Ability to build positive relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
• Excellent communication skills with the confidence to provide advice, coaching and guidance in a practical way.

Responsibilities

• Carry out audits, inspections and compliance reviews across the park.
• Support third-party contractors on site and ensure understanding of Merlin standards and expectations.
• Contribute to health and safety training programmes, inspections and audits to raise the bar continuously.
• Assist in reporting, investigation and follow-up of incidents, identifying root causes and implementing actions across the business.

Education

NEBOSH General Certificate (desirable)
