Job summary

Abatec Ltd. is recruiting an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support safe delivery of infrastructure and utilities projects within the Welsh Water framework.

You will report to the HSE Manager and work with operational teams, subcontractors and client representatives to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and best practice. The role involves being a visible site presence, providing guidance, coaching and assurance to drive continuous improvement in health, safety and wellbeing

Qualifications

• Proven experience working in a Health & Safety team, preferably with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 civil engineering contractor.
• NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) is required.
• IOSH membership (or working towards).
• Experience on civil engineering or construction projects.
• Strong data collection, analysis and interpretation skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Visio, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with site delivery teams to provide advice, support and training on health & safety compliance.
• Organise, support and contribute to health and safety assurance audits.
• Conduct and/or support accident and incident investigations.
• Act as ISO 45001 champion and monitor compliance with ISO 45001.
• Understand and apply the company approach to managing health & safety risk.
• Monitor and review corrective actions to drive improvements.
