Health & Safety Advisor - Regional Construction Subcontractor

Location: South Birmingham and surrounding areas

Salary: Up to £50,000 + package

The Role

You’ll be joining a close-knit team, working with site managers and client representatives to uphold high health and safety standards across sites in the West Midlands. This is a hands‑on role offering autonomy, visibility, and the opportunity to make a real impact within a well‑established subcontractor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day‑to‑day support and advice on health and safety matters to site teams
  • Liaise with clients and internal SHEQ colleagues to maintain consistent standards
  • Attend and contribute to site and project safety meetings
  • Review and approve RAMS and safe systems of work
  • Deliver toolbox talks and site inductions
  • Conduct regular site inspections and issue detailed reports
  • Investigate incidents and recommend practical corrective actions
  • Support occupational health management on sites
  • Assist with training, inductions, and competency tracking
About You
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum requirement)
  • Experience working within construction, ideally with a subcontractor or principal contractor
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, confident on site and in meetings
  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage your own workload
  • Competent with IT systems and report writing
Desirable
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent higher-level qualification
