A registered social landlord is seeking a proactive Health & Safety Advisor to join their Occupational Health & Safety Team. The role involves supporting the Health and Safety Manager, conducting inspections, and advising stakeholders. Candidates should hold a NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent, with experience in health and safety in construction. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive health and safety professional with a sound knowledge of health & safety requirements to join the Occupational Health & Safety Team here at YHG.
It’s an exciting time to join the team here at YHG as we are offering a newly created advisor post which will support the Health & Safety Manager in providing a health and safety service to the Repairs & Maintenance and Development business areas.
The role will involve forming working relationships across both areas, conducting a planned H&S inspection regime and dealing with general day to day enquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
We are looking for somebody who has a great understanding of health, safety legislation, who really cares about the health, safety and wellbeing of people, is passionate about what they do and brings their true authentic self to work everyday.
The role is 35 hours a week and we can offer some flexibility on the days that you work. You will be primarily home‑based, ideally living within a reasonable distance of our Head Office in Warrington, where you will be required (on occasion) to attend meetings and events.
First and foremost, you will be responsible for supporting the Health and Safety Manager with delivery of the operational Health and Safety plan (supporting the Corporate Plan) whilst delivering a program of inspections across all YHG estates and regions. The purpose of which is to help provide assurances that our employees are working safely, our systems are implemented and working and to help drive continuous improvement in those areas.
A similar program of visits across our new build sites for Development will also be one of your key responsibilities as well as providing an advisory service to stakeholders at various levels.
You will also be an important part of our health & safety team and will contribute to the development of our health & safety processes and procedures.
