Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health and Safety Advisor to support a safe, compliant, and positive working environment across the business. You will ensure legal compliance, provide practical advice to teams, and drive continuous improvement in health and safety performance across our sites.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental legislation
  • Maintain and review policies, procedures, risk assessments, and the Health & Safety Management System
  • Support SLT with policy development and improvement initiatives
  • Creation and maintenance of Health & Safety KPI dashboard for SLT
  • Prepare and review safety documentation including CPPs and RAMS
  • Conduct site audits and inspections, reporting findings and tracking actions
  • Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and training; identify and coordinate training needs
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, maintaining accurate records and reports
  • Provide day-to-day health and safety advice to management, project teams, and subcontractors
  • Liaise with external bodies including HSE, clients, and auditors
  • Monitor performance data, promote best practice, and drive continuous improvement
  • Review subcontractor documentation and carry out pre-qualification safety assessments
Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 5 years' health and safety experience within construction or electrical services
  • Experience with audits, inspections, training delivery, and incident investigations
  • Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 and relevant legislation
  • Competent in risk assessments, method statements, and H&S documentation
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and within a team
  • Willing to travel across the UK, including occasional overnight stays
Qualifications
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (essential)
  • NEBOSH Construction Cert (Essential)
  • Membership of IOSH (Tech IOSH Minimum)
  • CSCS card (Essential)
