The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years' experience in health and safety, a NEBOSH qualification, and excellent stakeholder engagement skills. Qualifications

Overview

Position: Health & Safety Advisor

Location: Mobile - East Midlands

Salary: £35,000 per annum + Car Allowance

Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30-16:30 (40 hours per week)

Contract: Permanent, Full Time

A leading facilities management provider is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Health & Safety Advisor to support operations across multiple sites in the East Midlands. This role is ideal for an HSE professional with strong sector experience and a passion for delivering compliance, safety excellence, and continuous improvement across commercial environments.

Responsibilities
  • Drive a strong safety and wellbeing culture across sites, supporting teams, supply chain partners, and stakeholders.
  • Provide expert advice on environmental, health and safety matters, ensuring safe working practices, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead incident management activities including reporting, investigation, corrective actions, and lessons learned.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, standards, and internal risk registers.
  • Support environmental performance, sustainability initiatives, and aspects / impacts assessments.
  • Participate in internal, external, and client audits while ensuring timely close-out of corrective actions.
  • Build strong working relationships to support collaborative, high-performing HSE culture.
  • Lead communication of HSWE initiatives through reports, briefings, and team engagement.
  • Support occupational health strategies and advise on employee wellbeing adjustments.
  • Assist with submissions for national safety awards.
  • Review risk assessments, policies, method statements, permits, and site documentation.
  • Deliver training and toolbox talks to support ongoing competence.
  • Support quality and assurance activities aligned with ISO frameworks.
  • Provide CDM and project safety support for minor and capital works.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and liaise with relevant authorities where needed.
Qualifications
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) - essential.
  • IEMA or equivalent environmental awareness qualification.
  • Member of IOSH (or evidence of continued professional development).
  • 3+ years' experience in a health & safety role, ideally within regulated environments.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 (and preferably 45003).
  • Understanding of CDM 2015 and BS 5975.
  • Experience supporting auditing and compliance monitoring processes.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS legislation and application.
  • Excellent IT, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
