Job description
H&S Advisor – Southampton & Surrounding Areas
Role purpose :

The Health & Safety Advisor role is responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring and review of policies and procedures relating to any aspect of Health, Safety & Environment and 'safe working practices' on site. On a day-to-day basis this role reports to the Construction Director however there is a dotted line towards the Contract Managers as you will be expected to work effectively alongside them and will take direction and instruction from them in regards the priorities of their sites. Similarly, you may work alongside the HR Manager on training initiatives and or investigations etc. You will have ultimate accountability to the Managing Director and in their absence the Operations Director. You will have regular contact with individuals of varying positions internally, and externally (i.e. clients, other sub-contractors on site, relevant authorities etc), so the ability to communicate effectively at all levels is required. You will be required to build relationships. This will include engaging operatives and positively promoting our safety values at all times.

Typical activities expected of this role include but are not limited to :
  • Supporting managers and employees to implement the health and safety systems, including delivery of objectives and plans
