A leading construction recruitment agency is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor for Southampton and surrounding areas. The role involves developing and implementing health and safety policies, conducting site visits, and collaborating with various site managers and HR for training and investigations. The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills and a background in health and safety practices. This position is critical for promoting safety values across sites.
The Health & Safety Advisor role is responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring and review of policies and procedures relating to any aspect of Health, Safety & Environment and 'safe working practices' on site. On a day-to-day basis this role reports to the Construction Director however there is a dotted line towards the Contract Managers as you will be expected to work effectively alongside them and will take direction and instruction from them in regards the priorities of their sites. Similarly, you may work alongside the HR Manager on training initiatives and or investigations etc. You will have ultimate accountability to the Managing Director and in their absence the Operations Director. You will have regular contact with individuals of varying positions internally, and externally (i.e. clients, other sub-contractors on site, relevant authorities etc), so the ability to communicate effectively at all levels is required.
