Responsibilities

  • Promote and share best SHEQ compliance practices
  • Liaise with EH&S related bodies including fire service and HSE
  • Assess site risks and document necessary actions to reduce risk
  • Complete SDS reviews and updates as required
  • Manage investigations to reduce business risk and monitor unsafe conditions
  • Work towards obtaining ISO 45001 accreditation and develop safety management system

Skills

NEBOSH or other safety qualified professional
Experienced in auditing
Minimum of two years working in a similar engineering environment
Sound understanding of regulated systems such as ISO 9000, 14000, 45000
Good analytical and problem-solving skills

Robertson Recruitment are working with a manufacturing company based in Coalville as they look to bring in a health and safety officer to join the team on a permanent basis. It will be your job to ensure company is compliant with health, safety and environmental regulations. Part of the job will be ensuring the company works to ISO and other relevant accredited quality, environmental and health and safety standards. Please be aware you might be asked to travel to other sites for this role.

Working Hours

Flexible hours doing full time (39 hours) or part time (25 hours). Start times can be anything from 07:00am.

Responsibilities
  • Promotes and shares best SHEQ compliance practice
  • Liaise with EH&S related bodies including fire service and HSE
  • Assess site and activities risks. Ensure assessments are documented, controlled and reviewed with necessary actions taken to reduce risk.
  • Complete Safety Data Sheet (SDS) reviews and updates and associated risk assessments as required
  • Manage investigation and actions to reduce business risk, both following incidents and by the prevention of incidents through the monitoring and action of unsafe conditions
  • Work towards obtaining ISO 45001 accreditation standard and development of the safety management system, by implementing any changes that are required. This includes arranging suitable internal and external audits.
Required Skills
  • NEBOSH or other safety qualified professional
  • Experienced in auditing.
  • Minimum of two years working in a similar engineering environment.
  • Sound understanding of regulated systems such as ISO 9000, 14000, 45000.
