Job summary

A leading UK housing association is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to join their Corporate Health & Safety team. The role involves providing expert health and safety advice, maintaining compliance, and promoting a culture of safety in the workplace. Ideal candidates possess a NEBOSH General Certificate and relevant advisory experience. The position offers a salary range of £40,649 to £45,000 per annum and hybrid working conditions.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a health and safety advisory role ideally in a multi-site or housing environment.

  • Promote high standards of health and safety across all L&Q workplaces.
  • Maintain and improve the Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS).
  • Design and deliver training and conduct audits.

Skills

NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent

Title: Health & Safety Advisor

Contract Type: Permanent Full-Time 35 hours p / w

Salary: 40649 per annum to 45000 per annum (London weighted salary) or 36073 per annum to $40000 per annum (Regional salary) dependant on experience

Grade: 8

Reporting Office: London Stratford or Manchester Trafford

Agile Worker: 20% - 40% of contractual hours to be worked from reporting office / working location (hybrid working)

Join our Corporate Health & Safety Team at L&Q

We're looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to join our diverse and experienced Corporate Health & Safety (CH&S) team. With around 30 professionals covering workplace safety construction fire and building safety and employee wellbeing, CH&S plays a vital role in shaping a safe and healthy working environment across L&Q.

As part of the second line of defence our team develops policies supports risk management delivers audits monitors compliance and promotes best practice.

Your impact in the role

In this role you'll provide expert advice and support on a wide range of health and safety topics to frontline staff and managers. You'll lead and contribute to safety-related projects working closely with internal teams and external partners.

Your key responsibilities will include
  • Promoting high standards of health and safety across all L&Q workplaces
  • Maintaining and improving our Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS)
  • Designing and delivering training processing incident reports conducting audits and facilitating risk assessment
  • Monitoring compliance and encouraging safe behaviours
  • Building strong relationships across the business and with external stakeholders such as local authorities and responding to queries.
  • Supporting departmental goals through collaborative and independent work
What you'll bring
  • A NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (minimum) and membership with a recognised health and safety institute
  • Proven experience in a health and safety advisory role ideally in a multi-site or housing environment
  • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation supported by ongoing professional development
  • Experience of incident investigation and collating H&S data to form reports articles and presentations
  • Experience of designing developing and delivering training courses and training programmes
