A regional healthcare provider is seeking a Health Records Clerk to join their team in Walsall. The role involves supporting the Health Records Department with filing and processing patient records, along with responding to queries at the front desk. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment. Previous experience is advantageous. Evening shifts are required, working Thursday and Friday from 2 PM to 10 PM.

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 284,300. It provides inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital as well as a wide range of services in the community. Walsall Manor houses the full range of district general hospital services under one roof. The £170 million development was completed in 2010, and ongoing upgrades ensure the Trust now has state-of-the-art facilities, including a Critical Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, Obstetric Theatre, and Integrated Assessment Unit. A new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre, opened in March 2023, has significantly improved emergency care facilities and capacity, providing almost 5,000 square metres of additional clinical space.
The successful candidate will be able to work in a calm, organised way with the ability to multi-task whilst dealing with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The post entails manual handling and repetition of tasks. You must be confident, friendly and able to work in a very busy environment against tight deadlines.
Previous knowledge and experience of working in a similar environment would be advantageous. It is essential that your application demonstrates your ability to meet the Job Description and Person Specification, and in particular your experience of working as part of a busy team, knowledge of confidentiality, good communication and customer service skills.
The post requires the use of kick stools and step ladders to retrieve files and involves long periods of being on your feet.
