Job summary

Ahead International is seeking a senior leader to steer the strategic development and delivery of inclusive community health programmes across the UK. You will design, implement, and oversee initiatives that address health inequalities and improve outcomes for vulnerable groups.

You will build partnerships with NHS bodies, local authorities, and VCSE organisations, line-manage staff and volunteers, deliver health education and outreach, and monitor impact while ensuring safeguarding and data

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Public Health, Health Promotion, Social Work, Nursing, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing community or public health programmes, ideally with vulnerable or marginalised groups.
  • Strong understanding of health inequalities, safeguarding, and rights-based approaches to health.
  • Proven experience of partnership working with NHS bodies, local authorities, and VCSE organisations.
  • Experience of line management, volunteer coordination, and community engagement.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to collect, analyse, and report monitoring and evaluation data.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

Person Specification – Essential Qualifications and Experience
