Job summary

North Devon Against Domestic Abuse Exeter Health IDVA (HIDVA) will work with the Devon Domestic Abuse Alliance to ensure effective access to services for victims of domestic abuse across Devon. The role involves multi-agency collaboration and training delivery.

They will assist health services, provide advocacy, safety planning, and coordinate with partners to keep high-risk victims and their children safe within the MARAC framework.

Qualifications

• At least two years experience as a practitioner supporting people with safeguarding knowledge and risk assessments.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and mental health issues.
• Excellent understanding of active listening and the ability to understand the needs of others.
• Trauma-informed working training.

Responsibilities

• Risk assessing and regularly reviewing risk assessments.
• Explain housing, financial, civil, and criminal legal options to clients.
• Undertaking safety planning and developing individual care plans.
• Providing advocacy, emotional and practical support to victims.
• Creating a team around the person approach and coordinating with DDAA.
