Job summary

Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Band 2 Health Care Support Worker to join the Adult Mental Health Acute & Specialist Care Service at Lynfield Mount Hospital and Airedale Centre for Mental Health. This is a full-time, permanent role with a 24-hour rota including long days, nights and weekends.

The post supports adults with acute mental health needs under supervision, delivering compassionate, person-centred care in a safe, therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

  • NVQ2 training or equivalent experience.
  • NVQ3 or above in care or modules relevant to the area.

Responsibilities

  • Personal care: support hygiene, mobility, nutrition while respecting dignity.
  • Clinical support: assist with observations, emergency procedures, and therapeutic interventions under supervision.
  • Admissions & discharges: help with patient transitions and maintain records.
  • Communication: engage with patients, families and colleagues while upholding confidentiality.
  • Documentation: record patient information and support admin tasks.
  • Teamwork: collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maintain a safe ward environment.

WE'RE LOOKING FOR DEDICATED BAND 2 HEALTH CARE SUPPORT WORKERS TO JOIN US ON A FULL TIME, PERMANENT BASIS!

We are seeking caring and motivated individuals to join our Adult Mental Health Acute & Specialist Care Service as Health Care Support Workers. You will work under the supervision of registered healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients at Airedale Centre for Mental Health and Lynfield Mount Hospital.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to support adults experiencing acute mental health needs and contribute to a safe, therapeutic environment.

This post involves a 24-hour service rota, including long days, nights, and weekends.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an in-person assessment centre at New Mill, Saltaire.

Main duties of the job

As a Health Care Support Worker in Acute Care Service, you'll play a key role in delivering compassionate, person-centred care. Your duties include:

  • Personal Care: Supporting patients with hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and emotional wellbeing while respecting dignity and privacy.
  • Clinical Support: Assisting with observations, emergency procedures, and therapeutic interventions under supervision.
