Job summary

North Somerset Council is offering a Health and Care Intelligence Specialist Apprenticeship in Weston‑super‑Mare. You will join the Business Intelligence team, delivering data and analysis to support health planning and wellbeing initiatives.

The role includes a 36‑month Level 7 apprenticeship with 20% off‑the‑job training, working with NHS partners and public health colleagues to improve health outcomes in the community.

Qualifications

• Evidence of teamwork to achieve results.
• Experience researching, gathering and analysing information.
• Ability to work on own initiative with an analytical and methodical approach.
• Understanding of data tools (Power BI, SQL) and ability to learn more.
• Ability to communicate ideas and information to a range of people in clear English.
• Good interpersonal and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional statistical advice to non‑specialist audiences.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand intelligence needs.
• Link, analyse and interpret health and population datasets.
• Contribute to JSNA and health needs assessments.
• Share knowledge and train colleagues across the council.
• Develop and maintain a library of reference materials.
