Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team at Westmorland Renal Centre. We offer haemodialysis, home therapy and outpatient clinics to our renal patients.

We are looking for caring, enthusiastic and motivated individuals with a “can do attitude”. Good communication, interpersonal and team working skills are essential along with the ability to work flexible shift patterns.

Training opportunities and staff support will be available for continuous professional development. For further information please contact Louise Berry, our unit manager.

Responsibilities
  • Provide good quality personalised care in accordance with agreed local and national standards.
  • Present a positive image of self, team and the organisation.
  • Assist patients to meet fluid and nutritional needs in line with their individual care plan.
  • Assist to maintain patient safety, conforming to health, safety and security legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Assist in maintaining standards of care to improve the patient experience and outcome of care.
  • Promote equality in care and practice by recognising, respecting and meeting the needs and choices of individuals.
  • Contribute to maintaining safe, clean, and productive care environment, compliant with standards for hygiene and cleanliness.
What we are looking for / Qualifications
  • A forward-thinking and well organised approach to delivering patient care.
  • Ability to help with personal care, meals and mobility, and perform clinical checks such as skin integrity, monitoring fluid and nutrition intake.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to fit into an existing team.
  • Willingness to participate in training and continuous professional development, with support to achieve Level 2 or 3 in healthcare (subject to government standards and entry requirements).
  • Interest in NHS roles, with potential progression to nurse training at partner education providers (University of Central Lancashire), subject to meeting university entry requirements.
