Job Summary

Ardingly Court GP Surgery is seeking a Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join our friendly team. The role requires a love of patient care and the ability to work in a busy environment.

Pre‑experience: The candidate must have previous work in a GP surgery as an HCA.

Key Duties
  • Conduct blood pressure checks, NHS health checks and ECG measurements.
  • Perform urinalysis, learning disability checks, diabetes foot assessments, B12 injections and restock rooms.
  • Assist with infection control processes and audits.
  • Support nursing and administrative activities.
Working Pattern

Part‑time, 5–7½ hours per week on Mondays. Flexible start time between 8:30 am and 9:00 am. Pay: £12.21–£14.00 per hour, dependent on experience.

About Ardingly Court Surgery

Our close‑knit team consists of 5 GPs, 2 nurses, 2 HCAs and additional administrative support, serving approximately 6,500 patients in the Brighton and Kemptown area.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Essential: Previous HCA role in a GP surgery; phlebotomy experience; confident PC use; knowledge of confidentiality; excellent verbal and written English; inclusive and non‑discriminatory approach; willingness to learn.
  • Desirable: NVQ/BTEC in Health and Social Care or similar; detailed knowledge of GP services and local health organisations.
