Job description

We are looking to recruit experienced Health Care Assistants at Frimley NHS Health Foundation Trust (FHFT) who are currently working in the UK in a Healthcare setting. We have a range of HCA vacancies across our clinical directorates on our Frimley Park Hospital site.

About the Role

As a Health Care Assistant, you will work under direct or indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse/Nursing Associate. You will assist the nursing team with care of patients and ensure the smooth running of the department. This is a front‑facing clinical role that requires excellent spoken and written English.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate clinical activities including collection of urine and faecal samples, swabs, recording of fluid intake/output, changing of stomas and urine drainage bags, catheter care, and routine monitoring of pulse/temperature/blood pressure/saturations.
  • Record National Early Warning Score (NEWS2) and advise the registrant nurse of any changes in a patient’s condition.
  • Provide support for enhanced care observation patients (1:1) or bay‑based observation as required.
  • Offer assistance to professionals in the implementation of care plans for individual patients.
  • Help patients eat and drink, including menu selection and consideration of special diets and cultural requirements.
  • Assist patients with personal hygiene and use equipment to mobilise and move patients safely after a mobility assessment.
Key Requirements
  • Current experience working as an HCA in a UK Healthcare setting.
  • High level of spoken and written English.
  • Calm, compassionate and caring with a commitment to delivering high‑quality patient care.
  • Willingness to attend mandatory informal webinars (2nd December 2025 12:30–13:10; 10th December 2025 13:30–14:15).
  • For those without a Care Certificate, completion of the required self‑assessment form 48 hours before the interview.
