Job summary

A prominent healthcare institution in Wirral is seeking a Health Care Assistant to join the team in providing essential care to patients in Ward 27. The role involves assisting Registered Nurses with care plans, offering personal care, and performing basic observations. Ideal candidates will have a Level 2 qualification in Health & Social Care and experience in a clinical environment. This position offers a supportive environment in one of the largest Trusts in the North West of England.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience and training of manual handling patients using appropriate equipment.
  • Able to provide support and reassurance to patients.
  • Experience working in a clinical environment is preferred.

Job description

Health Care Assistant - D.M.E - Ward 27

The closing date is 22 December 2025

We are looking for a Health Care Assistant to join our team on Ward 27 to assist Registered Nurses and other members of the multidisciplinary team in implementing patients' care plan.

The role will also require the successful individual to undertake some clerical and domestic duties to ensure a safe environment.

Main duties of the job
  • Provides personal care to patients e.g. Bathing, toileting, feeding and care of the dying.
  • Works in accordance to Trust Policies and Procedures.
  • Demonstrates own duties to new starters and others as appropriate.
  • Observes patients and reports any changes to a Registered Nurse.
  • Perform basic observation process by using automated device for temperature, blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturations and respiratory.
  • Take basic patient measurements eg height and weight.

Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training
  • Level 2 qualification (e.g. GCSE Grade A-C, NVQ2) in Health & Social Care OR a good standard of general education to GCSE level and the agreement to undertake the relevant L2 qualification on appointment
  • Experience working in a clinical environment
  • Experience working in the NHS
