Job summary

A GP Practice in Rotherham is seeking an experienced Health Care Support Worker to join a multidisciplinary team. The role involves monitoring blood pressure, performing wound care, and assisting in minor surgeries, as well as ensuring timely patient record management. Experience in a clinical setting and venepuncture competence are essential. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Monitor blood pressure and obtain patient consent for blood samples.

Job description

We are a small single handed GP Practice caring for around 4.500 patients situated just outside the town centre.

We are looking for an experienced HCA to work 16 hours over 2 - 3 days.

You will be part of a friendly, multidisciplinary team that includes 1 Lead GP, 3 Locum GP's, 2 Locum Advanced Nurse Practitioners, 2 Practice Nurses, a Paramedic and a Nurse Associate, all supported by an experienced Reception & Admin team.

Main duties of the job
  • Blood Pressure monitoring
  • Obtaining patient consent for the collection of blood samples
  • Wound care
  • NHS Health Checks
  • Injections (under PSD)
  • Ensuring samples are sent the laboratory in a timely manner
  • Maintaining accurate patient records
  • Support and participate in shared learning within the practice
  • Follow infection control procedures
  • Assist in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being
  • Help raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
  • Assisting with the collection of data on needs related to health and well-being
  • Re-Stock clinical rooms
  • Assist with minor surgery sessions
  • Stock checks for clinical supplies
