Overview

Exciting opportunity for an experienced Health Care Assistant to join our team in a large diverse General Practice. We have a progressive team of GPs and ANPs, clinical pharmacists, mental health practitioners and we are seeking to expand our team of general practice nursing team. If you are currently experienced Health Care assistant in adult immunisations, health checks, new patient health checks, hypertension monitoring, IGR reviews, please contact us. Post is for 20 hours per week.

About us

Large diverse General Practice. With a progressive team of GPs and ANPs, clinical pharmacists, mental health, physiotherapist/practitioners also a training practice with GP registrars and medical students.

Main duties of the job
  • Adult immunisations
  • Health checks
  • New patient health checks

Job responsibilities
  • New patient health checks
  • NHS health Checks
  • Well women clinics (HRT, contraception)
  • Recalling patients in for chronic disease clinics
  • Impaired Glucose monitoring
  • ECG recording
  • Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses
  • Sterilising, cleansing and maintenance of surgical equipment
  • Administrating vaccines (B12, pneumococcal, influenza, shingles and paediatric influenza)
  • Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
  • Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
  • Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
  • Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations
  • Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients’ health and well-being
