Job summary

A major healthcare provider in Liverpool is seeking a part-time Band 3 Health Care Assistant for the Assessment and Rehabilitation Day Unit. Responsibilities include patient observations, venepuncture, and coordinating patient scans. Ideal candidates will have outpatient experience and excellent communication skills. The role requires a willingness to pursue NVQ Level 3.

Qualifications

  • Previous outpatient experience.
  • Willingness to work towards Band 3 clinical skills such as venepuncture, cannulation, ECG recording, blood pressure measurement and stock taking.
  • Demonstrated willingness and capability to undertake NVQ Level 3.

  • Carrying out patient observations.
  • Venepuncture and safe removal of IV cannulas.
  • Chaperoning consultants in clinic.
  • Organising and coordinating relevant patient scans such as MRI/CT/Doppler.
  • First point of contact for patient telephone queries and confirming appointment attendance.
  • Co‑ordinating with multiple members of the MDT to ensure a smooth patient journey through the clinics.
