Job summary

Page Hall Medical Centre is seeking a qualified health care assistant to join our general practice team. You will work alongside a team of 3 nurses and another experienced health care assistant, and be part of the MDT to provide high quality care to patients.

You will undertake phlebotomy, health checks, basic wound care, stock control and use the practice system to record interactions, contributing to Audits and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Teamworking in a clinical setting.
• Experience in a GP or primary care environment.
• Ability to support patients with diverse needs.

• Maintaining the privacy, dignity, needs and cultural beliefs of patients, carers and colleagues

About us

We have around 8000 patients registered at the surgery. around 1/3 of these patients do not have English as a first language and therefore require additional support to access health care.

As a team, we promote the wellbeing of the patients and the team.

We have 42 members in our team, to include GPs, Nurses, HCA, Phlebotomists, Pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, receptionist and an experienced admin team.

We are a training practice that invites students in to come and learn with us, including GPs, Nurses and pharmacy technicians. We believe in supporting team members to achieve goals through experience and learning.

• Maintaining and monitoring of vaccination condition and temperatures
• Acting as a chaperone as required
• In house testing of urine samples
• Testing of emergency medical equipment

• To help identify vulnerable patients

Essential qualifications

• GCSE level C or above
• Qualified in Phlebotomy
• Holds the care certificate
• NVQ level 2 in health and social care

Desirable qualifications

• Holds a clean driving licence
• Previous experience in primary care

• Experience working in a clinical environment
• Experience working with individuals with care needs

Desirable experience

• Experience working in a GP practice
• Has previously worked on a care setting
