A local healthcare organization is seeking a Healthcare Assistant in Cockermouth. This role involves assisting the clinical team, conducting patient health checks, and performing various administrative tasks. Workingunder the supervision of the practice nurses and strictly in accordance withspecific practice guidelines and protocols, the healthcare assistant willassist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribedprogrammes of care. We are willing to consider both both full and part time applicants.
To work as part of the nursing team and report to the Lead Nurse. The susccessful candidate will undertake a wide range of patient facing and administrative work including new patient health checks, phelbotomy, blood pressure checks, and lifestyle advice.

Duties and responsibilities include:
New patient health checks
ECG recording
Lifestyle advice
Blood Pressure
Diabetic Foot Checks
Spirometry once qualified
Processing and management of laboratory samplesrequested by GPs/nurses
Sterilising, cleansing and maintenance of surgicalequipment
Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring andrecording
Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking andstock rotation
Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
Preparing and maintaining environments andequipment before, during and after patient care interventions includingassisting GPs during the performance of minor operations
Assisting in the assessment and surveillance ofpatients health and well-being
Assisting in vaccination clinics - once training complete
Undertaking specific clinical activities for namedpatients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to thatindividual
Helping to raise awareness of health andwell-being and how it can be promoted
Assisting with the collection and collation ofdata on needs related to health and well-being
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
