Job summary

UK Management College is seeking an inspiring Health and Social Care Lecturer to join our academic team at the Manchester Campus. Qualifications

  • Master's degree in health and social care or a closely related field.
  • Undergraduate degree in Health and Social Care or related discipline.
  • Experience teaching or training in higher education or professional settings.
  • Ability to design, assess, and evaluate academic work.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and presentation skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive, student centred teaching and learning.
  • Ability to support diverse student cohorts effectively.
  • PhD or equivalent professional experience.
  • Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCert in Learning & Teaching) or willingness to obtain one.
  • Experience in health or social care practice.
  • Evidence of research, publications, or conference engagement.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance frameworks in higher education.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high quality teaching across Health and Social Care modules at undergraduate level.
  • Design and deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and workshops using inclusive and student centred approaches.
  • Develop and maintain up to date teaching materials aligned with current sector practices and regulatory standards.
  • Apply innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Provide timely, constructive, and fair feedback to support student development.
  • Supervise dissertations, research projects, and placements where applicable.
  • Act as a personal tutor, supporting students academically and pastorally.
  • Monitor student attendance, engagement, and progression.
  • Participate in programme development, review, and accreditation processes.
  • Attend assessment boards, academic committees, and team meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with academic regulations and quality standards.
  • Build relationships with health and social care providers to support placements and collaboration.
  • Represent the College at professional events and external networks.
  • Contribute to community engagement and partnership development.
