Overview

Lecturer Health & Social Care (Part-Time, Permanent, Wolverhampton)
Location: Wolverhampton
Contract Type: Part-Time, Permanent (0.5 FTE / 17.5 hours per week)
Salary: Qualified/Unqualified Lecturer Scale, SCP (£27,885 £43,341 pro rata)

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and effective teaching, learning, and assessment within Health & Social Care.
  • Support students in achieving their qualifications and developing wider employability skills.
  • Embed English, Maths, Equality & Diversity, and safeguarding within teaching practice.
  • Contribute to recruitment, retention, and student success, maintaining high academic standards.
  • Participate in curriculum planning, quality assurance, and programme development.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • Teaching qualification (DTLLS, Cert Ed., PGCE) or willingness to work towards one.
  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/Level 2 or above, or willingness to achieve this during probation.
  • Relevant qualification or professional experience in the Health & Social Care sector.
  • Experience designing, delivering, and assessing high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Ability to deliver to awarding body standards, including assessment and marking requirements.
  • Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and educational technology tools).
Desirable
  • Qualification above the level being taught.
  • Experience working with different awarding bodies or developing new programmes.
