Job summary

A leading training provider is seeking a Trainee Health and Social Care Assessor in Kent. The role involves assessing and supporting learners in their health and social care apprenticeships while delivering training in maths and English. Candidates should possess occupational competency in health and social care and be confident in conducting assessments both online and face-to-face. This position offers a salary between £26,500 and £31,000, plus bonuses up to £12,000 annually, with flexibility for travel required.

Qualifications

• Must hold occupational competency in Health and Social Care (Elderly) at Care Management level.
• Confident to deliver Maths and English Functional Skills.
• Must have a good level of ICT skills.
• Full, clean driving licence and use of a vehicle.
• Must be flexible with travel.

Responsibilities

• Assess and support learners working towards Apprenticeships in Health and Social Care Levels 2, 3 and/or 5.
• Deliver training and support learners with Functional Skills Maths and English to level 2.
• Manage diary efficiently for timely visits and reviews.
• Organise and maintain documentation on learners’ progress.
• Support, advise and motivate learners.
• Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learner’s needs.
• Meet Assessor KPI’s in terms of timely visits and quality paperwork.

Essential Criteria

• Open to an unqualified Assessor candidate who is seeking a new opportunity away from hands‑on care, to train and become an Assessor of Health and Social Care Apprenticeships.
• Must hold occupational competency in Health and Social Care (Elderly) at Care Management level.
• Confident to deliver Maths and English Functional Skills.
• Happy to conduct online remote assessments – and face to face when required.
• Must have a good level of ICT skills.
• Full, clean driving licence and use of a vehicle.
• Must be flexible with travel.

Duties include

• Assess and support learners working towards Apprenticeships in Health and Social Care Levels 2, 3 and/or 5 (depending on level of competency).
• Deliver training and support learners with Functional Skills Maths and English to level 2.
