Guide Salary: £60,000 Plus Car Allowance & Bonus
Our client is a leading UK‑based renewable energy company specialising in the production of biomethane through anaerobic digestion. By partnering closely with local farmers, they convert agricultural and organic waste into clean, green energy while generating valuable by‑products such as nutrient‑rich bio‑fertilised and high‑purity green CO₂. This closed‑loop approach supports sustainable agriculture, drives rural economic development, and advances the circular economy. With several projects already under development across the United Kingdom, their ambition is to become the country's leading producer of biomethane and to supply up to 25% of the UK's total output. In doing so, it plays a key role in supporting the Government's target to quadruple biomethane production and in delivering long‑term value for local communities while accelerating the UK's transition to net zero.
They are recruiting for a Health and Safety Manager preferably with experience in the anaerobic digestion or renewable energy sectors who is an expert in implementing and managing comprehensive health, safety, and environmental (HSE) systems that ensure compliance with industry regulations and safeguard high‑risk operational environments. Proven ability to conduct detailed risk assessments, develop safe systems of work, and lead emergency response and process safety programmes within complex biogas and waste‑to‑energy facilities. Adept at driving a strong safety culture through training, auditing, and continuous improvement initiatives. Works collaboratively with engineers, operators, and senior management to optimise operational safety, reduce incidents, and maintain regulatory compliance with HSE, EA, and COMAH standards. Practically minded as well as commercially astute with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
