Join LRG as our Head of H&S to provide leadership for the Health and Safety agenda across Operations and Retail and to continually develop the culture of Health and Safety in the business, ensuring the appropriate culture and resources are in place to meet all obligations in relation to occupational health, safety, workplace environment, liability and physical risk.
Drive forward LRG’s HSE strategy and annual operating plan that is embedded into day-to-day operations
Implement and maintain an effective HSE management system that ensures full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
Lead and chair the LRG Health and Safety Steering Group to track delivery against the HSE plan, resolve issues, and drive corrective actions
Work closely with Operations and Retail functions to embed Health and Safety requirements into operational plans, procedures, and ways of working
Establish, maintain, and continuously improve HSE policies, procedures, standards, and monitoring processes to ensure regulatory compliance
Provide expert advice on legal and regulatory requirements, ensuring the business remains aligned with changes in legislation, enforcement expectations and emerging risks
Maintain a detailed understanding of current operational and retail risks, as well as risks associated with new activities, projects and business changes, enabling early and effective risk mitigation
Drive the implementation of practical controls and improvements that reduce the risk of injury, ill health or incidents across the business
Design and operate performance review, audit and assurance processes that provide clear insight into HSE performance and support informed decision making and resource prioritisation
Define competence and training requirements necessary to meet legal and company standards, ensuring these are clearly specified and monitored
Coordinate and support incident, liability and claims management activities, ensuring consistent investigation, reporting and follow‑up
Manage and maintain effective working relationships with the Health and Safety Executive and other relevant regulators and authorities
Ensure HSE capability across the business is maintained through appropriate training, guidance and access to specialist support
Identify operational Health and Safety representatives or champions and provide structured support to enable consistent application of standards
Maintain oversight of mandatory training, certification and refresher requirements to ensure ongoing compliance
Promote continuous improvement by identifying trends, lessons learned and opportunities to strengthen controls, processes and behaviours
Demonstrate a commitment to learning and personal development to stay at the forefront of Health, Safety and Environment developments and knowledge
Recognise the importance of the LRG values and seek to influence through these in everything that you do
NEBOSH Diploma / Degree or equivalent in relevant subject
Proven experience of working in a senior HSE role within a retail or professional services organisation
Membership of IOSH or other relevant professional body
On‑going professional development and strong knowledge of industry and regulatory developments
Experience in team and individual leadership
Good communicator with suitable IT Skills
Full UK driving licence
