Are you passionate about creating safer workplaces and making a tangible impact across diverse environments? We're working with a forward-thinking public sector organisation in the West Midlands region to recruit a Health and Safety Officer on a part-time basis.

The Role

As a Health and Safety Officer, you'll play a key role in supporting managers and teams to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and best practice. You'll conduct audits, inspections, and investigations, while also delivering training and offering expert guidance across various departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct planned and ad‑hoc health and safety audits, inspections, and accident investigations.
  • Support and advise managers on risk assessments and remedial actions.
  • Deliver training and awareness sessions on health and safety responsibilities.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of health and safety strategies and policies.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including union reps and public bodies.
What We're Looking For
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) or willingness to obtain.
  • Strong knowledge of current H&S legislation and its practical application.
  • Experience in auditing, training delivery, and advising on H&S matters.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
