A leading aviation services company is seeking a full-time Health and Safety Manager in the UK. You will ensure compliance with statutory obligations, implement best practices, and lead initiatives across multiple sites. Candidates should have strong knowledge of UK health and safety regulations and experience in regulated environments like aviation. This position involves regular travel and offers a generous salary package including benefits and a matched pension scheme.
The Safety Team provides support, guidance and direction across the Group, ensuring we comply with our statutory obligations and also implement best practice. They are seeking a full time Health and Safety Manager (North) to join their agile, dynamic and busy team. This role will work alongside the Health and Safety Manager (South), and together they will deliver Health and Safety excellence across the Group by:
Whilst this role will be based at Doncaster, the successful candidate should expect to travel regularly between our sites, therefore a driving license is essential. The focus will primarily be at our sites in Doncaster, Humberside, Prestwick and our Head Office based at Sywell in Northamptonshire, with ad-hoc cover required in the South.
You'll already be working in a Health and Safety Manager role or you're at Advisor/Officer level and feel ready to take the next step. You may have safety qualifications, such as IOSH and NEBOSH, but this isn't essential if you've got the right experience instead. With a strong working knowledge of UK Health and Safety regulation, you'll be used to working with managers and employees to implement Health and Safety best practice in the workplace, with a focus on continuous improvement. You'll be a natural leader, with the ability to communicate, negotiate and influence at all levels of the business. Whilst not essential, we would particularly welcome applications from individuals who have experience within the aviation industry but, as a minimum, you should have experience of working in a highly regulated environment. Experience of working within a factory or manufacturing setting will also stand you in good stead. With strong IT skills, you'll be experienced in using online, integrated management tools, and will be confident using these tools to support reporting and presenting. If you are used to working with Centrik software, let us know in your application, as this is desired. Finally, because we're working towards ISO 45001:2018, an understanding of this accreditation would be of significant advantage. If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
