Construction Health & Safety Manager – North of England | £50,000 - £55,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance + 28 Days Holiday | Permanent, full-time

Are you a proven Health & Safety professional looking to make an impact within a growing construction organisation? This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Construction Health & Safety Manager to lead H&S initiatives, mentor teams, and embed a positive safety culture across diverse construction projects.

About the client

Our client expertise covers a wide range of sectors, including mineral extraction, iron and steel, sugar, coal, cement, power, biomass, and food processing. The business has the flexibility and resources to handle everything from small-scale maintenance tasks through to multi-million-pound contracts. Services range from complete plant installation and commissioning to the provision of skilled labour for standalone site works.

The Role
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health & safety legislation and company standards.
  • Mentor and guide site operatives, promoting proactive engagement in safety practices.
  • Lead health & safety initiatives to drive continuous improvement and cultural change.
  • Conduct inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations, providing actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with management teams to maintain robust H&S policies and procedures.
  • Deliver training sessions, toolbox talks, and safety awareness programmes.
  • Support accreditations, audits, and compliance reporting to external authorities.
About You
  • NEBOSH or IOSH certification (or equivalent).
  • 3–5 years’ experience in a Health & Safety role within construction, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of H&S regulations, industry best practice, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Experience conducting audits, investigations, and risk assessments.
  • A proactive, flexible approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence.
