Job summary

A leading food manufacturing company in the UK is seeking a proactive Health & Safety Manager to elevate safety standards and champion a culture of safety at their manufacturing site. Responsibilities include leading the Health & Safety strategy, ensuring legal compliance, managing risk assessments, and maintaining safe working practices.   • Partner cross-functionally for full legal compliance and best-practice solutions.
  • Build stakeholder relationships to encourage collaboration and accountability.
  • Investigate accidents and major incidents to identify root causes.
  • Oversee safe working practices for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Conduct, review, and validate risk assessments with effective controls.
  • Manage first aid provision and PPE processes.
  • Deliver impactful EHS training with HR and L&D teams.
  • Continuously improve systems in line with evolving standards.

At our iconic Kettle Chips site, we're looking for a proactive Health & Safety Manager to elevate our standards and champion a culture of safety across the factory. What will our Health and Safety Manager do:

  • Lead and deliver the Valeo Foods Health & Safety strategy, ensuring all KPIs and objectives are achieved.
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure full legal compliance and embed best-practice solutions across site operations.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships that encourage collaboration, shared ownership, and accountability.
  • Investigate accidents and major incidents, identifying root causes and sharing learning to prevent recurrence.
  • Oversee safe working practices for employees, contractors, and visitors, ensuring operational excellence.
  • Conduct, review, and validate risk assessments, ensuring effective controls are in place and maintained.
  • Manage first aid provision, PPE processes, and occupational health support to protect and support our people.
  • Work with HR and L&D teams to deliver impactful EHS training and keep compliance records up to date.
  • Champion a safety-first culture, continuously improving systems in line with evolving standards and regulations.
