Health and Safety Manager, Newport with travel across the Midlands, Up to £45,000 plus Benefits

Irwin and Colton have partnered with one of the UK's leading independent self-storage providers who are looking to recruit a Health and Safety Manager. This role offers the opportunity to shape and lead the company's health and safety strategy as the business continues its ambitious expansion across the UK.

The organisation operates a growing network of modern self-storage centres, providing secure units for personal, business and commercial customers. Sites combine office, warehouse and customer-facing areas, creating a varied environment that demands rigorous standards of health, fire and workplace safety.

Responsibilities
  • Developing and implementing company-wide health and safety policies, procedures and management systems to ensure full legal compliance
  • Conducting regular safety audits, inspections and risk assessments across all locations, with a particular focus on fire safety and COSHH requirements
  • Providing comprehensive health and safety training to managers and employees, and acting as the primary point of contact for advice and guidance
  • Investigating and reporting incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
  • Collaborating with senior management and site teams to maintain a positive, proactive safety culture as the organisation expands
Requirements
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (NEBOSH Fire would be advantageous)
  • Relevant experience in a health and safety management role
  • Proven expertise in advising managers and supervisors, delivering training, and handling investigations
  • Strong knowledge of developing, implementing and reviewing health and safety policies and procedures
  • Up-to-date understanding of UK health, safety and fire safety legislation and COSHH standards
