Role

Operating as the Health & Safety Manager in Lincoln, you will be responsible for ensuring H&S standards and best practice are adhered to across all construction projects, delivering an effective health and safety culture throughout the business and construction sites.

This is an excellent safety compliance consultant opportunity for an ambitious Health & Safety professional to lead occupational health safety initiatives with genuine autonomy and impact across residential and commercial builds.

Responsibilities
  • Attend and lead HSE meetings to improve effectiveness of ISO 45001 systems and safety policies in place
  • Update and improve company Health and Safety policies and documentation in line with current legislation and CDM advisor requirements
  • Produce Construction Health and Safety Plans (CHSP) and associated supporting documentation, maintain records, registers and data as required
  • Write and develop construction Phase Plans to ensure compliance with CDM 2015 regulations
  • Support the investigation of accidents, incidents and near miss events to identify root causes and share lessons learned across the business
  • Lead site health and safety audits and HSE inspections across construction sites
  • Carry out accident and incident investigations and provide detailed reports to senior construction management
  • Assist the Preconstruction department with risk assessments, method statements and pre‑construction safety planning where required
  • Attend HSE meeting to improve effectiveness of systems and policies in place.
Person

To be successful in this Health & Safety Consultant job in Lincoln, you will bring significant experience working within a construction main contractor or residential housebuilder environment.

  • Proven experience as a Health & Safety Manager, Senior H&S Consultant or Safety Compliance Consultant within the construction sector
  • Ideally from a construction main contractor, residential housebuilder or construction consultancy background
  • NEBOSH certified (NEBOSH Diploma or Construction Certificate essential)
  • Hold a relevant CSCS Card (preferably SMSTS or equivalent site safety qualification)
  • Technical appreciation of health and safety legislation and ability to keep up to date with legislative changes and best practice
  • Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations, construction risk management and ISO 45001 standards
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal to deliver key safety messages to site teams and senior stakeholders
  • Good problem‑solving skills and strong Microsoft Office skills for reporting and documentation
  • Self‑motivated and flexible, with the ability to work under pressure accurately on an independent basis, always giving attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and work ethic with the ability to develop ongoing relationships
