They are currently seeking a Health & Safety Manager to take the lead on all aspects of health, safety, and quality across both the head office and active construction sites — from on-site compliance to maintaining high standards of quality and control.
Main Roles and Responsibilities
Site
- Ensure on-site health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements are met
- Identify potential risks and carry out risk assessments
- Ensure all employees and subcontractors are aware of safety measures, including the approval of RAMS
- Advise and guide employees on best health and safety practices
- Oversee online subcontractor inductions
- Monitor environmental impacts, including head office consumption
- Manage waste control, removal, and disposal to licensed facilities with monthly reporting
Inspections
- Issue permit documentation for daily and weekly inspections
- Conduct site visits and produce detailed reports
- Investigate incidents or near misses and prepare appropriate reports
- Liaise with third-party and NHBC inspectors
Documentation
- Develop and review safety guidelines and procedures
- Maintain company-wide policy documentation (Employee, Subcontractor, Driving, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements, CDM regulations, and H&S standards
Head Office
- Manage office H&S requirements, including PAT testing, weekly fire alarm tests, and security systems
- Maintain the H&S file for the office and oversee maintenance RAMS
- Conduct return-to-work interviews
Reporting
- Issue safety briefs and legal updates
- Prepare and distribute monthly reports
- Organise and coordinate management meetings
- Chair biannual and six-monthly committee meetings
- Compile data for presentations and management reports
- Maintain training and red card matrices
- Prepare HSE reports and advise directors on compliance matters
- Liaise on insurance claims (personal and property)
