A leading UK university in Birmingham is seeking a Health and Safety Manager. This full-time role involves managing health and safety systems, conducting audits, and delivering training. The ideal candidate will have a NEBOSH certificate and experience in UK health and safety practices. Applications for part-time work are also welcomed.

The University has an exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Manager to join their growing, ambitious and diverse University, named the Times University of the Year for Social Inclusion 2026.
The post of Health and Safety Manager sits within the University's Human Resources Department. The post holder will be responsible for managing the University’s Health and Safety management systems and promoting safe working practices. They will develop and maintain health and safety standards; provide advice and guidance regarding compliance with relevant statutory requirements, legislation and regulations, and promote best practice in accordance with sector and professional standards.

They will also be required to design and deliver effective health and safety and related training, including staff health & safety inductions.
Qualifications: The successful applicant will be a Chartered member of IOSH or an equivalent body and must have a NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety as a minimum. Experience of UK health and safety best practice and legislation along with relevant practical experience in managing health and safety in the workplace is required. Previous experience in Higher Education would be advantageous but not essential.
This is a full-time role but job-share and part-time applications would be considered.
