Health and Safety Advisor – UK & Ireland

Location & Salary

London | Circa £50,000 plus car allowance

Overview

Irwin and Colton have been engaged by one of the world's largest real estate organisations to identify a new Health and Safety Advisor; focusing on the UK and Ireland operations. The organisation owns and manages a multimillion‑pound portfolio within the commercial space.

Role Summary

This role will report directly to the Health and Safety Manager and will be part of leading all aspects of safety across the company (centrally), such as implementing new and improved strategy and ensuring management systems are in place across the UK and Ireland. This position will liaise with senior stakeholders across the business, with intention to raise the level of health and safety performance across the portfolio and share best practice across UK and Ireland sites.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure a culture of best practice in health and safety across the business and client property portfolios, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Provide expert guidance and leadership to speak with stakeholders and engage with all staff across the organisation on health and safety issues.
  • Ensure activities across the portfolio are properly risk‑assessed and manage a regular audit programme to evaluate performance.
  • Develop and manage the health and safety management system, seek opportunities to improve and enhance the overall Health and safety strategy and performance.
Qualifications
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) is ideal, with relevant IOSH membership.
  • Proven experience in a similar health and safety position, ideally with property management, facilities management, or related industry experience.
  • Proven experience of influencing and engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK and Ireland as‑and‑when necessary.
