What is the role we are looking for?
We are looking for an experienced and qualified Health & Safety Advisor to provide vital hands-on support and help build upon the success of the existing Health and Safety Department. Working alongside a team of H&S Advisors you will be responsible for providing professional and comprehensive H&S advice whilst ensuring compliance with current legislation and Company Policy. This role covers branches throughout the South and South West of England encompassing Surrey, West Sussex, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Jersey, Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Avon, Glamorgan, South Wales and Somerset. This is a remote worker role which requires regular on site visits across your designated region, so you will need to be flexible to travel which may require overnight stays. There will also be occasional requirement to visit our Head Office in Eastbourne, East Sussex.
The support you will offer will include carrying out H&S audits to ensure branches are compliant and proposing changes where required, undertaking risk assessments and coordinating surveys, advising on a variety of H&S issues including moving and handling, fire safety, DSE, control of substances hazardous to health and management of asbestos. Another key part of the role is ensuring checklists and reports are fit for purpose by carrying out investigations into incidents and reporting back to the relevant teams.
You will be an excellent communicator at all levels, always maintaining a people centred approach with the ability to build effective relationships and quickly establish your knowledge and credibility in this role.
