The role: Health and Safety Advisor

An opportunity has arisen for a Health and Safety Advisor to work within the Compliance Team at BAMG. The role is required to provide health and safety support on all development initiatives and projects. The Health and Safety Advisor will be an authority on occupational health and safety in order to provide a safe and secure place of work for Engineering staff, contractors and visitors across BAMG. They are responsible for ensuring compliance with current legislation and regulatory requirements through the implementation of health and safety policies.

What you’ll do:
  • Ensures compliance with the current legislation, corporate and engineering policy with respect to Health Safety.
  • Establishes an active network with the H&S coordinators, trade union safety reps and line managers to offer practical advice and mentorship to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policy.
  • Provides health, safety, and environmental expertise throughout the area on developmental initiatives and projects.
  • Carries out audits, training, and investigations in support of the business Safety Management System.
  • Reviews legislation and regulatory requirements and assists managers and colleagues to maintain compliance.

Your experience:
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (essential)
  • Extensive experience of providing Health and Safety assurance in a complex engineering environment (essential)
  • A Part 145 Awareness Course (desirable)
