Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Health and Safety Advisory or Coordination role would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of health and safety processes, understanding the need for and importance of adherence.
• Strong communication skills at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Maintain site-specific risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Complete weekly inspections and behavioral observations.
• Lead site investigations and gather evidence for incidents.
• Issue permits, verify RAMS, and manage isolations.
• Run toolbox talks and coach team leaders on adherence.
• Maintain evidence files for BRCGS/H&S and host audits.

We are looking to appoint a Health & Safety Advisor on our Wardle site. Providing dedicated onsite Health and Safety expertise across the operation, tailored to the operational profile whilst championing best practice and challenging non‑adherence.

Day to Day

• Site Risk Control: Maintain site‑specific RAs/SSOW (yard traffic plans, pedestrian segregation, loading bay controls, racking safety, MHE routes, pallet inverter, baler/compactor, maintenance tasks)
• Frontline Assurance: Complete weekly inspections and behavioural observations; verify pre‑use checks; follow up defects and housekeeping
• Incident Response & Investigation: Lead site investigations; gather evidence; draft RIDDORs for review; ensure emergency preparedness
• Contractor & PTW: Issue permits; verify RAMS; monitor works; manage isolations and safe hand‑back
• Briefings & Engagement: Run toolbox talks and safety stand‑downs; coach FLM/Team Leaders on SSOW adherence
• Audit Readiness: Maintain BRCGS/H&S evidence files; host auditors/customers; ensure prompt close‑out of actions
