Job description

Junior Health & Safety Advisor - Suffolk

£30,000 - £35,000 benefits | Full Time | 37.5 hours per week

We're The Collective Network, and we're looking for someone who wants to kickstart a career in Health & Safety – hands‑on, on the shop floor, making a real difference. Our client is a major player in the food and drinks industry, producing high‑quality ingredients enjoyed by companies and consumers alike. Their Stowmarket site is busy, fast‑paced, and looking for a Junior Health & Safety Advisor who's ready to get stuck in from day one. This isn't a desk job. You'll be on the floor, observing, coaching, auditing, and helping make sure safety comes first. You'll be part of the Health & Safety team, gaining real hands‑on experience while supporting the site to run safely and efficiently.

What you'll be doing:
  • Supporting the Health & Safety team with documentation, reporting, and compliance.
  • Helping train and guide colleagues on safe ways of working.
  • Embedding H&S policies and procedures into day‑to‑day operations.
  • Carrying out inspections and audits – spotting hazards before they become incidents.
  • Supporting incident investigations and helping implement corrective actions.
  • Running emergency drills and ensuring everyone knows what to do.
  • Contributing to risk assessments, gap analysis, and problem solving.
  • Promoting a positive safety culture across the site – making sure everyone understands why safety matters.
  • Basically, if something's unsafe, confusing, or could be done better, you'll be helping fix it.
Who we're looking for:
  • Someone keen to learn and grow in Health & Safety.
  • Team‑player attitude – collaborating with colleagues across the site.
  • Proactive, positive, and hands‑on – not afraid to ask questions or speak up.
  • Able to follow policies and procedures and support others in doing the same.
  • Respectful, approachable, and keen to help make the workplace safer.
  • No extensive experience required – this is an entry‑level position, perfect for someone who wants to get into Health & Safety the right way, starting on the shop floor.
What's in it for you:
  • £30,000 per year plus a performance bonus.
  • 5% pension contribution.
  • Health & wellbeing perks – Health Cash Plan, Employee Assistance Programme, Life Assurance.
  • Flexible working to help balance work and life.
  • A chance to work for a company committed to quality, sustainability, and supporting its employees.
  • Real responsibility from day one – this isn't a "make tea and file papers" role.
