Lincolnshire Co-op is hiring a Health and Safety Advisor to provide practical advice and assurance across multiple trading areas. You will investigate incidents, support risk assessments, and help maintain compliance while driving continuous safety improvements.
The role requires a proactive, people-facing approach with strong communication, organisation, and relationship-building skills. NEBOSH or IOSH qualification is desirable, with comprehensive training provided.
At Lincolnshire Co-op, health and safety is about more than policies and procedures. It's about creating environments where colleagues, customers and visitors can feel safe, supported and confident.
As a Health and Safety Advisor, you'll provide practical advice, support and assurance across our different trading areas, helping the Society meet its legal obligations while continuing to improve health, safety, welfare and environmental standards.
Because great health and safety isn't just about compliance.
It's about helping people understand what good looks like - and making it part of everyday working life.
From investigating incidents and near misses to carrying out audits and supporting risk assessments, you'll help identify risks and find practical ways to improve safety across the Society.
You'll work closely with colleagues, managers and external stakeholders, providing guidance, investigating issues and supporting teams to put effective controls in place.
Because sometimes, the right advice at the right time can prevent a bigger issue further down the line.
You'll use data, investigation findings and feedback to identify opportunities for improvement, helping us strengthen our approach to health and safety across our sites and teams.
One day, you might be carrying out an audit or investigating an incident.
The next, you could be supporting a training session, reviewing a risk assessment or helping colleagues understand a change in legislation.
You're passionate about creating safer workplaces, but you also understand that great health and safety starts with working with people.
You're proactive, practical and confident providing advice, with the ability to investigate issues, identify risks and help colleagues find solutions. You'll be comfortable working across different areas of the Society, building positive relationships and helping others understand their responsibilities.
Most importantly, you'll be someone who can build trust, communicate clearly and encourage others to take health and safety seriously - while helping create a positive, proactive safety culture across Lincolnshire Co-op.
As well as being part of a team that helps keep our colleagues, customers and communities safe, you'll benefit from:
As an Investors in People Platinum employer, we're committed to creating an environment where colleagues are supported to learn, develop and feel proud of the work they do.
If you're someone who enjoys solving problems, building relationships and making a practical difference to health and safety, this could be the role for you.
Join us and help create safer workplaces across our communities.
