UK Projects (based from Head Office & sites)

Permanent | Full-Time

£50k - £55k + Package

Our client is one of the UK's leading civil engineering contractors, delivering complex infrastructure projects across energy, transport, and construction. We are seeking a proactive Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Advisor to join our team, supporting both head office and live project sites.

The Role

As an HSE Advisor, you'll work closely with project teams to ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance are achieved. You'll provide professional advice, carry out inspections, deliver training, and support continuous improvement initiatives across our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of HSE management systems.
  • Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and compliance checks.
  • Assist with incident investigations and reporting, ensuring lessons learned are shared.
  • Deliver toolbox talks, training sessions, and safety awareness campaigns.
  • Promote a strong safety culture, including supporting our behavioural safety programme BRAVE.
  • Maintain accurate HSE data and contribute to trend analysis for improvement.
  • Provide health & safety input into tenders and pre-qualifications.
About You
  • Previous experience in a Health & Safety role within construction or civil engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and best practice.
  • NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) essential; membership of IOSH desirable.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and auditing skills.
  • Ability to work across multiple projects with a proactive, “can-do” attitude.
