A local authority council in Skipton is seeking a Health and Safety Risk Adviser to enhance safety in educational environments across North Yorkshire. The role involves site visits, engaging with clients, and offering health and safety guidance. Candidates should have a level 3 safety qualification and strong negotiation skills. We are looking for a Health and Safety Risk Adviser, to join our forward thinking and motivated team of H&S professionals working across North Yorkshire and beyond.
Our aim is to empower our clients and teams to make informed decisions about anything relating to health and safety.
We work very closely with schools to encourage them to bring variety and practical elements into their student learnings, e.g school trips, practical science classes, whilst working safely.
You will work across the education sector to support and improve health and safety and helping to embed positive safety cultures. You will support our clients to provide safe educational environments that encourages learning.
This role is varied and whilst knowledge of health and safety in educational environments and/or fire safety would be an advantage we will consider your application whatever your health and safety background.
You’ll be out and about in the west of our county and beyond. Your work will be split between these site visits and working from your home. If you prefer, you can also work from one of our NYC offices!
As a Health and Safety Risk Adviser you will have good negotiation skills to advise on health and safety both statutory requirements and best practice to support our clients to continuously improve and make a difference.
You will be supported by an innovative team of H&S professionals with a wide variety of knowledge and experience, where you are able to influence but also develop your own professional skills. We are committed to supporting you in this by providing opportunities for training and mentoring.
