Job summary

Hopton is seeking a headteacher to lead a Church of England Academy, upholding the ethos and values of the school. You will drive high standards in teaching, curriculum, and assessment while safeguarding pupils and working with the Trust and governors.

You will promote professional development, manage risk and estates, and lead staff with empathy and integrity, ensuring strong relationships across the school community and with parents.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher status required.
• NPQH desirable for leadership track.
• Experience in school self-evaluation and development planning.
• Line management and staff development experience.
• Data analysis and target setting to improve pupil outcomes.
• Understanding of high-quality teaching and modelling for others.
• Knowledge of school finances and financial management.
• Experience of budget setting, audits and bid writing.
• Experience of risk and estate management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate a vision and inspire others.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with governors.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain high standards of teaching across subjects and phases.
• Provide curriculum leadership with subject leaders.
• Use formative assessment to inform decisions.
• Ensure a broad, structured and coherent curriculum.
• Oversee SEN and inclusion in collaboration with Director of SEND.
• Safeguard pupils and ensure a safe environment.
• Work with governors and partners to improve outcomes.
• Support staff wellbeing and manage workload.
• Ensure compliance with statutory duties.
• Lead and develop governance relationships and accountability.
