Job summary

Dallam Community Primary School, part of The Challenge Academy Trust (TCAT), invites applications for a Headteacher to lead the academy with vision and strategic direction. You will work with staff, families and the TCAT to shape the next stage of development and achieve outstanding educational outcomes.

You will provide inspirational leadership, drive inclusion, and partner with governors and the wider community to ensure high standards, safeguarding and wellbeing across all pupils.

Job description

Serving children aged 2 to 11, Dallam is a proud member of The Challenge Academy Trust (TCAT) and is committed to ensuring that every child is nurtured, inspired and empowered to achieve their very best. We are looking for a leader who shares our passion for educational excellence and can work alongside our talented staff, engaged families and supportive Trust to shape the next stage of Dallam's development.

As Headteacher, you will be the leading professional at the academy, accountable to the Local Governing Challenge Board (LGCB) and the Trust Board. You will provide vision, leadership, and direction, ensuring the academy is managed and organised to meet its aims and ambitions. You will also play a key role in The Challenge Academy Trust’s Central Executive Team, contributing to the strategic direction of the trust and collaborating with other Principals and Headteachers to advance educational outcomes.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an assessment centre, to be held at the academy on Wednesday 14 October 2026

Following the assessment centre, candidates will be reviewed with successful candidates being invited to a formal panel interview on Thursday 15 October 2026

1. 1) Salary: Leadership Scale L15 - L21 (£73,105 to £84,699 - subject to 3% uplift).
